Applied Flute

A native of Omaha, Betsy Bobenhouse has been Adjunct Instructor of Flute, Director of the Nebraska Wesleyan Flute Ensemble and a member of the NWU faculty Huntington Trio since 2008. Ms. Bobenhouse completed her Master of Music degree in 2001 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was affiliated with Pi Kappa Lambda music honor society. Ms.Bobenhouse performs with Duo Adante, flute and harp, The New Music Agency - a chamber group committed to the works of living composers, the Lincoln Municipal Band, The Nebraska Chamber Orchestra, Lincoln Light Opera/Malley Keelan and Friends, and the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to teaching at Nebraska Wesleyan University, Ms. Bobenhouse maintains a busy private studio; her students receive consistently high marks at local and state contests and frequently win positions in area honor bands and orchestras. Regardless of her student's age, Ms. Bobenhouse stresses the application of music theory, the development of strong technique, healthy practice habits based on her study of the Alexander Technique and the mechanics of an excellent sound.
